Making an impression in the media.

On 3 May 2024 I was lucky enough to be interviewed on Radio Alty.
I had a great chat with Rod Maxwell on his Late Late Lunch Show.

Obviously we talked about my book and the story behind it. It was wonderful to tell people about how The Alphabet Tour evolved and the life long friendships I have made.
But we also talked about our shared passion for singing in a choir. Rod was brilliant and played a couple of tracks by my Choir, Di Voci.

I also had to select six tunes which have meaning to me to break up conversation.
You can listen to how I got on and see what you think of my choice in music through the following link:

The Alphabet Tour makes the national press!
Following on from my interview on Radio Alty, the story of The Alphabet Tour caught the interest of a now freelance journalist, Jan Disley living in Altrincham.

We met a few times for her to learn more about the exploits of The Alphabetties and found we had a great deal in common. She passed on her research to a colleague at The Daily Mail, Liz Hull. The results of their collaboration were published on 25 August 2024 in The Daily Mail Online.
It was amazing to see an article about my book and my fellow Alphabetties published in the national press. Some great photos accompanied the article too. Real blasts from our past! It still makes me excited looking at this!

On Wednesday 12 February 2025 I was kindly
invited to talk to Lymm WI.
This was a really lovely experience. The ladies of Lymm WI were very welcoming and seemed genuinely interested in my story and how my novel has developed.

Over thirty members were present and it was fabulous to be a part of such an historic institution. The business of the meeting was mainly directed towards all the worthwhile causes and events supported and run by the WI.

I was thrilled that the tradition of opening the meeting with a rendition of "Jerusalem"is still upheld. I was amazed how the words of the wonderful hymm came back to me!

It would be really lovely to do more talks of this nature.
